I have lots of love for Hibernian Aviva today, my new (very cheap) policy starts from this morning.
When I first walked into the branch in Wexford, the first thing that came to mind was Ryanair! Although I quickly forgot about this when I was greeted with a toothy smile from a friendly Polish girl.
If the branch in Wexford is anything to go by, Hibernian Aviva seem to have staff who know what they’re talking about, are friendly and who actually take the time to explain what exactly is on your policy and how it works.
Along with having 30 euros knocked off the initial (fully comp) quotation, I was also given free windscreen cover, breakdown assistance (which covers Ireland, Northern Ireland, The UK and Wales) and from today I can drive any other privately insured vehicle! Sweet!
All of the above was explained in detail with accompanying brochures etc… and I was out of the office in under 20 minutes flat with all relevant documents, car discs etc…
Now that’s how business should be done!
So, instead of feeling ripped off (as I have done every other year after paying my car insurance) I skipped strolled out of their office feeling very happy with myself indeed and feeling rewarded for my years of safe driving, no claims bonus and no penalty points.
Maybe I have just had bad experiences with other insurance brokers/companies but I felt myself asking why other quotes I received were from 350 to 700 euros more expensive than Aviva?!
I asked one of the insurance brokers I had received a much more expensive quotation from and unbelievably I was told…
“Insurance companies are very complicated… we don’t really understand it ourselves. We just put in the details on the computer and give you the quotation”
…with this broker in particular, I was in their office for 45 minutes before I even got the quotation and had to sit there and look at the girl squinting and making faces at the computer screen mumbling under her breath at the speed of the server! The server which then crashed just as she was about to submit the details and I subsequently had to go over all of the details again.
Well Done Hibernian Aviva.
They even have a top notch website!
